Arriving and getting around
By air: Rabat-Salé Airport is the capital's air arrival point. Check the information from ONDA and your airline for your flight, then prepare the journey to your accommodation.
By train: Rabat-Agdal station is on the ONCF network. Choose your arrival station when searching for your ticket and check the schedule for your travel date with ONCF.
For your daily travel, the tramway connects Rabat and Salé. Locate your accommodation, school or workplace on the official map before choosing a subscription or journey.
Housing: interpret advertised prices
Example recorded on Mubawab on October 18, 2026, listing 8430318 in Hassan: unfurnished apartment of 98 m² offered at 8,000 MAD per month. The ratio between the requested rent and the announced surface area is 81.63 MAD per m² per month, rounded to the cent.
This is the asking price for a specific accommodation, not a signed rent, a Rabat average or a neighborhood median. Availability, charges, fees and lease conditions remain to be verified with the advertiser.
Compare properties of the same size and type, distinguishing between unfurnished and furnished. Visit the accommodation and test the commute to school or work before committing.
Water, electricity, and sanitation
The Rabat-Salé-Kénitra SRM began its activities on June 1, 2025. This does not mean that all subscribers in Rabat have changed their distributor: according to Médias24 dated June 5, 2025, Redal retains its contractual perimeter until 2028.
During the check on October 18, 2026, the official Redal website still indicates that it ensures the distribution of drinking water, electricity and sanitation within its perimeter, which includes Rabat. For your property, start from the distributor listed on the bill and ask for its subscription conditions and current rates.
Health: find public healthcare facilities
The official Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Territorial Health Group directory lists Ibn Sina Hospital, the Children's Hospital, the Specialties Hospital, the National Institute of Oncology, and the Souissi Maternity Hospital in Rabat. Use this directory to identify the correct establishment and verify access to the desired service.
Before settling in, check with your coverage provider about the care covered and the steps to follow. For a scheduled consultation, ask the facility about appointment procedures and any potential fees.
Schools: identified establishments
Descartes High School in Agdal is listed by the AEFE with certified grade levels from sixième to terminale. Its official profile provides the institution's contact details.
The André-Malraux French International School, an institution within the MLF/OSUI network, is also listed by the AEFE. Grade levels from petite section to terminale are certified there; the toute petite section is listed separately as uncertified.
Rabat American School offers an English-language curriculum from preschool to high school graduation, and indicates on its website that it is accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization.
Contact each school to find out about available places, the admission file, and the grade levels offered for your child. Ask for the written fee schedule for the relevant school year, distinguishing between registration, tuition, transport, and catering.
To see: heritage, museums and places to visit
The property "Rabat, modern capital and historic city: a shared heritage" has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 2012. The city brings together the medina, Arab-Islamic heritage, and modern architecture: take the time to discover their details on foot.
The Moroccan National Tourist Office notably presents the Kasbah of the Oudayas, the Chellah, the site of the Hassan Mosque with its tower, and the Mohammed V Mausoleum. Respect on-site instructions; the presentation of a religious heritage does not constitute authorization to access all of its areas.
At the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the National Foundation of Museums publishes the following rates: Moroccan adult, 30 MAD; Moroccan under 18, 15 MAD; foreign visitor, 60 MAD. It announces opening hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closing on Tuesdays, to be confirmed before the visit. Check its page for exhibitions and applicable conditions.
Saint Peter's Cathedral is presented by the Archdiocese of Rabat as a place that also welcomes visitors. Ask the parish about the day's visiting possibilities, respect celebrations, and request the reception's agreement before taking photos. Mass times are not tourist visiting hours.
Crafts and flavors: encountering expertise
In the medina, ONMT highlights Rbati carpets, embroidery, silver jewelry, leather goods, and traditional clothing. Rue des Consuls, Souk Sebbat, and Souika are among the mentioned places. Ask artisans about the origin, material, and workmanship of the piece to make an informed choice.
Moroccan pastries and spices are also part of exploring the markets. To further discover local earth crafts, the Oulja complex is located in Salé, not in Rabat: ONMT showcases potters, basketry, and wrought iron there.
