Settle in Kénitra: housing, schools and practical life

Arriving and getting around
Kenitra can suit families and working professionals who wish to organize their daily routine around the train. The station is among the stops for Al Boraq, on the Tangier–Rabat-Agdal–Casablanca axis presented by ONCF.
Before choosing your accommodation, check the route and schedule corresponding to your travel days on ONCF Voyages. Also test the route between the accommodation, the train station, and the school; no travel time or discount is guaranteed here.
For arrival by plane, check the Rabat–Salé airport on the ONDA website. This airport is separate from Kénitra: plan your transfer to the city separately and ask for the price before booking.
Housing: a listing reference rather than an average price
Maamora: ad MASAKEN-11991, posted in the list on April 7, 2026 and recorded on October 19, 2026, asks for 4,000 MAD per month for 138 m², i.e. 28.99 MAD/m²/month after rounding. These are the price and area stated in the ad, not a verified transaction.
This isolated example gives neither the average rent of Kenitra nor a range by neighborhood. The monthly unit is published, but the lease duration, utilities, deposit, and availability must be confirmed with the advertiser.
Compare accommodations of the same size and equipment level. During the visit, check the condition of the accommodation, the elevator if you need one, noise, and daily commutes. Ask for a written document specifying the rent and fees before committing.
Water, electricity, and sanitation
In Kenitra, the SRM Rabat–Salé–Kénitra has taken over the services of the former RAK perimeter. Its press release sets the start date to June 1, 2025. The Redal contract exception in the region should not be confused with the Kenitra perimeter.
The SRM connection portal publishes the required documents and requests the presentation of originals at the branch for the contract. For a rented property, request the latest bill and the subscription conditions applicable to your address. No tiered pricing is estimated here.
Health: find public healthcare services
The Azzamouri Provincial Hospital Center in Kénitra is cited by the Ministry of Health in its press release dated July 25, 2026. This is the public reference selected for this profile; contact the establishment for the service, guidance, and care procedures you are looking for.
The ministry announced on July 11, 2025 the launch of the services of the Okba Ibnou Nafii, Bouchtyene Med Zerktouni, Chouhada and Hay Essalam urban centers in Kenitra, after rehabilitation. These local centers must not be confused with a specialized hospital service.
Prepare your prescriptions, medical reports and the contact details of your insurance organization. Before planned treatment, ask the facility and your organization for documents, any quote and reimbursement conditions.
Schools: distinguishing programs
Honoré-de-Balzac school group is an AEFE directly managed establishment. The official directory indicates approved levels from petite section to troisième. Address: rue Youssef Ben Tachfine; telephone: +212 5 37 37 39 77. Confirm admission and the path after middle school directly with the school.
Gauss Kénitra indicates that it follows the Moroccan Ministry of Education curriculum and prepares students for French-option baccalaureate tracks (BIOF). This does not constitute AEFE accreditation or the IB international diploma. The site publishes separate contacts for nursery, primary, and middle/high school.
Yassamine Kénitra, at Allées du Parc, announces an offer from nursery to high school and publishes the number +212 5 37 39 15 38. Ask for the program, the levels actually open, available places, and written fees for the targeted year. No tuition fees are invented in this sheet.
To see: heritage, nature and places of worship
The Kasbah of Mehdia is part of the protected heritage listed by the Ministry of Culture. Its inventory also cites the port kasbah and its mosque. Heritage classification does not prove current interior openness or tourist access to the mosque: confirm conditions before the visit.
The Sidi Boughaba reserve, near Mehdia, is presented by ONMT for the observation of migratory waterbirds. SPANA’s National Environmental Education Center publishes the number +212 5 37 74 72 09. Inquire with the center about reception, activities and access conditions.
Christ the King parish is listed by the Archdiocese of Rabat at 17, Mohamed Abdouh Street, in Kenitra, with the number +212 7 07 12 16 06. Contact them for a possible visit outside of celebrations; the existence of a parish does not mean permanent tourist access. Ask for permission before taking any photos.
The mural clock of Kenitra is also listed in the inventory of the Ministry of Culture, with a classification indicated in 2004. For a family outing, choose your route according to the actually open accesses and respect prayer spaces, monuments, and the tranquility of the birds.
Culture, crafts, and encounters
For cultural encounters in Kenitra, the French Institute publishes an agenda and offers a media library. Consult its current program rather than relying on the date of an old event.
ONMT features carpets among the skills of the Rabat region. A getaway to its artisans can complement a stay in Kenitra, without attributing to the city a specialty that is not documented. Ask for the origin, material, and name of the workshop before making a purchase.
To discover Moroccan flavors and support the local economy, talk with merchants about their products and artisans about their work. Ask for prices before ordering and people's consent before filming or photographing them.
