Arriving and getting around
By air: prepare your arrival at Marrakech-Menara Airport with information from ONDA and your airline. To reach your accommodation, check taxi or bus arrangements before departure and ask for the fare before accepting it.
The Regional Tourism Council presents the train and urban bus network among Marrakech's means of transport. Consult ONCF for your ticket and the day's timetables; for daily travel, map out the route between accommodation, school, and work before choosing your neighborhood.
Housing: interpret advertised prices
Example recorded on October 18, 2026 on Mubawab, listing 8433701 published by Le Meurice Immobilier in Guéliz: furnished apartment for long-term rent, 76 m², offered at 8,000 MAD per month. The requested rent relative to the announced surface area is 105.26 MAD per m² per month, rounded to the cent.
Another example noted on the same day at Capital Properties, reference 5322, in Guéliz: 110 m² apartment offered for long-term rent at 10,000 MAD per month, i.e., 90.91 MAD per m² per month, rounded to the nearest cent. Have the agency specify whether the property is rented furnished or unfurnished.
These amounts are the prices requested for two specific housing units. They constitute neither a Marrakech average, nor a Gueliz median, nor signed rents. Verify availability, utilities, fees, and lease conditions with each advertiser.
Compare properties of similar size and type, separating furnished and unfurnished. Visit the accommodation and try out the commute to school or work before committing.
Water, electricity, and sanitation
The Marrakech-Safi Regional Multiservice Company (SRM-MS) took over the distribution activities previously carried out in Marrakech by RADEEMA since November 2024, according to the report by Médias24 on November 2, 2024. Upon inspection on October 18, 2026, the Fatourati payment portal also identifies SRM Marrakech-Safi for the former RADEEMA zone.
For your accommodation, start from the manager's name written on the invoice and ask for the subscription conditions as well as current tariffs. Do not use an old RADEEMA scale to establish your budget without verifying that it still applies.
Health: find public healthcare facilities
The official website of the Mohammed VI University Hospital of Marrakech lists notably the Arrazi, Ibn Tofail, Mother and Child, Ibn Nafis hospitals, as well as the Oncology and Hematology hospital. Consult the presentation of the establishments to identify the appropriate service and its reception procedures.
Before settling in, check the covered care and procedures with your coverage provider. For a scheduled consultation, ask the facility about appointment procedures and any potential fees.
Schools: identified establishments
The AEFE lists Lycée Victor-Hugo in Marrakech with homologated levels from petite section to terminale. Its official file provides access to the establishment's contact details and website.
Jacques-Majorelle school group, in the OSUI/MLF network, also appears in the AEFE directory with approved levels from petite section to troisième. Its profile also mentions an annex in Benguérir: have the campus corresponding to your child's application specified.
In its official 2025–2026 presentation, the American School of Marrakesh describes an English-language curriculum from preschool to Grade 12, and notably presents the International Baccalaureate diploma and the American High School Diploma. Check with the school for the program and admission procedures for the desired year.
Contact each institution for places and the admission file. Ask for its written fee schedule for the relevant school year, distinguishing between registration, tuition, transport, and catering.
To see: heritage and visit preparation
The medina of Marrakech has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1985. For a first discovery, the Moroccan National Tourist Office highlights Jemaa el-Fna, the souks, the Menara, and the El Badi Palace. Also spot the minaret of the Koutoubia during a walk in the city.
At Dar El Bacha, the National Museums Foundation announces an opening from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 6 pm, and closure on Monday. Published rates: foreign visitor, 60 MAD; Moroccan public, 25 MAD; Moroccan under 18, 15 MAD. Check the museum's page before visiting to verify the day's conditions.
The Regional Tourism Council presents the Salat Al Azama Synagogue in the Mellah. Before planning a visit, have the opening and reception conditions confirmed directly by the managers of the site.
The Church of the Holy Martyrs in Guéliz has an official parish website. Contact the parish to find out about visiting possibilities; the published mass times do not constitute tourist visiting hours.
In places of worship, respect celebrations and reception instructions. Ask for permission before taking pictures; the presentation of a place on this page does not replace the agreement of its managers.
Crafts, flavors and contemporary Marrakech
Zellige, carved wood, and plaster decorations are part of the expertise described by UNESCO in the medina. ONMT also presents the work of German silver (maillechort) in contemporary creation. In workshops and shops, ask artisans about the material, origin, and how the piece is made.
The tanjia is among the Marrakech specialties presented by ONMT. Extend the discovery through the markets and local expertise, then explore Guéliz and Hivernage, which the office presents as another, more contemporary facet of the city.
